How long does setup take?
On average 10 to 15 minutes. Create an app registration in the Azure portal, give us tenant ID, application ID and the client secret. We verify on the spot and start the first sync. Google Workspace setup is similar with service account and domain wide delegation.
Which Microsoft 365 permissions are required?
User.Read.All, Contacts.ReadWrite and Directory.Read.All as application permissions, not delegated. With those we read users and photos and, when enabled, write contacts into every mailbox.
Which Google Workspace permissions are needed?
Domain wide delegation with scopes admin.directory.user.readonly and admin.directory.customer.readonly. The service account acts on behalf of a super admin.
Where is my data stored?
Supabase in Frankfurt, eu central 1. DPA included. We only store the contact cache and photo avatars, no mail, calendar or chats.
Can we filter who is visible?
Yes. Filter by domain, license, department, guest accounts, phone required and more. Filters apply to sync and push, so only the wanted contacts end up in Outlook.
What happens when we cancel?
The subscription runs until the end of the period, then the workspace is archived. You can cancel anytime or change the plan via the Stripe customer portal. Data is deleted 30 days after archive.
Are employees automatically removed when they leave?
Yes. Once an account is disabled in Azure AD or Google Workspace, it leaves the directory and Outlook contacts on the next sync.
How often does sync run?
Choose between manual, hourly, daily or weekly. Default is daily. Hourly sync is included in the Business plan.
Does Cloud Directory work with Apple Mail?
Indirectly, yes. When Outlook push is active, contacts land as CardDAV in every mailbox. Apple Mail uses these contacts automatically when the account is set up on macOS or iOS.
Can I use my own logo and brand colors?
Yes, from the Business plan. Logo upload, accent color and hiding the Cloud Directory logo are possible. Custom domain follows in the Enterprise plan.
How much does Cloud Directory cost?
Starter 29 euros per month for up to 25 employees, Business 79 euros per month for up to 100 employees. Enterprise with custom pricing. Net prices, annual billing saves 20 percent.
Can I manage multiple locations or tenants?
Yes. One Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant per workspace. You can manage multiple workspaces under one user account.
How is Cloud Directory different from the Outlook Global Address List (GAL)?
The native Microsoft 365 GAL shows only people with a mailbox. External contacts, subcontractors or branches without a license are missing. Cloud Directory syncs the full directory and lets you filter individually.
How secure is Cloud Directory?
TLS everywhere, AES encryption for Azure client secrets and Google service account keys, RLS on every database table, isolated schema per tenant. No staff member sees other tenants without explicit authorization.
Can I self host Cloud Directory?
In the Enterprise plan on request with dedicated onboarding. Default is managed cloud hosting in Frankfurt.
